Come Experience the Fair and Carnival at the Sonoma Country Fair
The Sonoma Country Fair runs from July 24 through August 9 and offers some of the most engaging activities for the whole family, including a carnival, rides, horseracing, rodeos and demolition derbies.
The kids will find excitement in rides such as the Alpine Slide, Krazy Plane and the Baja Buggies. The carnival and exhibit buildings are accessible 12 hours a day except on Mondays, and you and the family can enjoy rides such as the Pharoah's Fury, Beach Party and classic Bumper cars. For two weeks during the fair, Wine Country Horse Racing is available on California's only turf track; come enjoy the races by some of the best jockeys in the sport while sampling award-winning local wines. On July 25, you can immerse yourself in rodeos in Wine Country by the PRCA as cowboys compete in saddle bronc riding, steer wrestling, team roping and many other events.
If vehicular carnage is more to your liking, experience the Destruction Derbies & Monster Trucks in Wine Country starting on Aug. 1. MoonDog Motorsports brings destruction and mayhem with a chaotic yet safe derby of vehicles smashing into each other. Competitors from all over California will battle it out for trophies and prizes. Think you have what it takes to survive the destruction? Enter your vehicle in the event and become part of the show. However, just watching the destruction is thrilling still.
As there are so many attractions at the Sonoma Country Fair, it's unlikely you'll be able to get the full experience in a single day. By going online and reserving your room at the Hilton Sonoma Wine Country Hotel, you will be staying close to the fun and games offered at the fairgrounds and will have enough time to appreciate all the thrilling activities.
